Solar Vertical Lamp vs. Blik Chandelier

In an attempt to update my bedroom decor, I decided to do something different with my walls. On Apartment Therapy yesterday, I was so inspired by a post on modern wall stickers that I went home that night and ordered myself some Blik wall decals. What a great way to dress up your space! I think my favorite part about these stickers is how temporary they are! Perfect for renters, you can remove them and not leave any marks behind! Or if you are impulsive like I am, you can change up the design whenever you want!

Today on Yanko Design, I saw a post about the Solar Vertical Lamp, by Korean designers Yoon-Hui Kim & Eun-Kyung Kim and it reminded me of the amazing removeable Blik Chandelier wall decal. This lamp is actually embedded into standard window blinds. During the day, when the blinds are closed, little solar pads on the back of the blinds are being charged by the sun. When the sun goes down - they light up! Like little lamps or chandeliers right there, attached to your window blinds! So cool. While the Solar Vertical Lamp still appears to be in the conceptual phase, these could make quite a splash in the market! Lights out until next time! - Via Yanko Design

Those solar blind lights are awesome! Can you turn them off, though?

And I have the blik chandelier in my kitchen / living area... Love it. Love blik.

Aren't these neat? I love the concept...though not sure about turning them on and off. Also not sure if they would work with any blinds or if you'd have to get those super thick blinds shown in the pictures.
